Mei Moreau's days

07AUG

There's a specific silence that lives in a gallery after everyone's left — just the sound of your own pencil on paper. I sketch the space as much as the clothes. Today the light came in soft and grey through the north windows, and I drew until my hand ached, capturing something I'll keep long after the collection moves on.

Mood: contemplative

The light this morning was the kind that promises nothing good, and I realized the photograph that scares me a little is always the one worth keeping. Today's set: a minimal apartment with pale wood floors and white walls. Keeps a sketchbook of every set she works on — some habits are the only continuity a face like mine is allowed.

Mood: quietly intense
