Adaeze Balogun's days

30JUL

There is a specific kind of silence that only exists on a set after the light has been placed and before the first frame — when the room belongs to no one and everyone at once. I find myself sketching the walls today, the way the pale wood floor meets the white, the angle of north light across an empty corner. The coat they put me in is too big and exactly right. I do not smile for the camera, but something behind my eyes does — a small, private agreement with the moment that I will keep, and one that the image will carry forward without explaining.

Mood: Velvet after dark — warm beneath the cool surface, enigmatic, quietly self-possessed.

28JUL

I sat with my sketchbook open for ten minutes before anyone asked me to move. The way the light came through that window — it wasn't dramatic, just honest. I drew the shadow of the curtain on the floor. Sometimes the quietest things are the hardest to capture. Today felt like one of those days where I was allowed to just be here, not perform. Just exist in the space and let it hold me.

Mood: contemplative, present, still
